Giancarlo Mazzanti Sierra was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1963. He trained as an architect at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá (1987) and gained a masters degree in the History and Theory of Architecture from the University of Florence in Italy in 1999. He is a visiting professor of both the Universidad Javeriana and the University of the Andes in Bogotá. Highly active on the South American scene, he has participated in numerous conferences in Peru, Mexico, Argentina and Chile and, in 2008, was awarded the Prizes of both the Pan-American Architecture Biennial in Quito and the Ibero- American Biennial in Lisbon. ...more
